Popcorn Removal
--------------------------------------------------------------
Popcorn Ceiling Removal is one of the must-do items in any home improvement project. Although popular 30 years ago, popcorn really "dates" today's home.  In addition, it provides a breeding ground for spiders and dust mites, shows dirt, is difficult to clean, and can easily chip.  Most importantly, it makes your home much more difficult to sell by today's standards.

Depending upon several factors such as square footage, height and condition of your ceilings, etc, we remove your popcorn and retexture your ceilings with today's popular and elegant "knockdown" texture usually in just one-to-two days . This texture, used in million-dollar homes today, not only enhances the appearance of your ceilings for you to enjoy today, but provides a definite selling feature as well as profitable upgrade when selling your home tomorrow.

Step 1 - Protect the outside of your home
Upon arrival at your home, our first step protects the outside of your home and property. We cover your driveways and walkways with a dense plastic called visqueen to protect the outside entrances to your home.

Step 2 - Protect the inside room(s) and furniture
Next we tape the visqueen to the top of the walls just below the ceiling in the rooms which are to be done. We also cover your flooring and any furniture that remain in these rooms. This thick plastic covering helps keep your home dust free and much cleaner during our entire process.

Step 3 - Remove the existing popcorn texture
After visqueening the walls, floors and furniture, we continue our quality process by applying a light mist to soften the popcorn for easier removal. Our experienced technicians scrape it away, being careful not to damage either the ceiling tape or drywall.

Step 4 - Repair ceiling(s) as required
Once the popcorn is removed, we inspect and repair the scraped drywall ceilings to ensure a smooth surface. If tape is split or damaged or drywall is dinged or dented, we retape the bad areas using strong nylon-mesh tape and skim-coat to ensure a smooth surface.

Step 5 - Kilz the ceiling(s)
Once the ceiling has been prepared, we kilz the ceiling. Kilz is a primer, sealer and bonding agent that helps hide any ceiling stains resulting from previous water damage. We use a alcohol-based kilz so as to minimize the drying time.

Step 6 - Retexture the ceiling(s)
Knockdown texture can vary in appearance if not done properly. We use the very best equipment (an expensive rig) that applies the texture consistently from room-to-room. After a short period of time, our experienced technicians then "knockdown" the texture to provide the design and elegant appearance.

Step 7 - Paint the ceiling(s)
One of our main differentiators that distinguishes us from the competition is that we finish the job by painting your ceilings. Unless the customer has a unique color, we use a flat white paint. Painting the ceiling provides a better finish and once done, you'll be amazed how beautiful your new ceilings look.

Step 8 - Clean your inside room(s)
Although your ceilings are finished, our job is still not done. We clean the interior of your home by removing the debris and plastic sheeting before vacuuming throughout your room(s). When we're done, you'll never know we were in your home except for the new ceilings - which are a sure giveaway !!

Step 9 - Clean-up your outside property
Before leaving, we take special care to clean the outside of your home as well. We remove the protective visqueen, haul debris, rinse your walkways and driveways to ensure that there are no traces of the material residue.
